Signed, Sealed & to be Delivered

photo
Tomorrow will be the most difficult part where I have to kiss goodbye my hard earn P1,511 (too steep, if you ask me) to send this app to UMN via FedEx. It took me 2 weeks to collate all the documentary requirements in my app to the TMD & Orofacial Pain program. Went back to my alma mater and had to dodge some "old faces" while had nice exchanges of hi's to some instructors as well. I will also send another app via snail mail (with added prayers that this would reach its destination) to the AEGD residency program. The one year duration of both programs will be enough for me to qualify to take the clinical examination. That is, IF, I do get accepted into any of the fellowship and able to finish it satisfactorily.

According, to Dr. SCH, "Don't think about glorifying yourself but think of how to get accepted into the program. Your app should stand out and be able to get their attention." I had reservations in writing my own letter of recommendation. It took me several days and 2 revisions and then the final draft was ready for their imprimatur. I had a 2-pager letter of Rx from the Program Director of UP Graduate School. She was an alumnus of this prestigious university in '87. I got another LORx from the chairman of our department in Asian Hospital. Dr. HPV was so accommodating and gave me words of support as I have elaborated of my future plans to practice in the State of Minnesota. And the 3rd LORx was from my clinical instructor who I remember would give a grade of 100% for restorative cases. She was still full of pep and in her case, the saying.....great things come in small packages..... still holds true.
Now, I have to find something to let me temporarily take my mind off this "waiting game" again. "Nothing gained easily as some would say."

The letter of intent was a brain squeezer.....revised it last....and another revision and its 2:27AM already. Dapat may konti martyr effect para mapukaw ang damdamin nila. healthcare professional with a heart ang gameplan
